Planning Your Visit

Checklist

hiking

Even though you may get overly excited about putting on your hiking boots or tennis shoes with one foot out the door, visiting Interlaken does require some planning. Most importantly, the plans on how to get there.

Step 1 - Air Travel

Most international travelers typically fly into the major airport in Geneva. From the airport, you can pick up the railway system. The ticket machines are conveniently located near the exits and it just takes a few steps down the stairs to be in the right place.

Step 2 - Train

Interlaken is about a 2.5 hour train ride from Geneva. Navigating the train system couldn't be easier. You can plan your trip, buy your tickets all on Eurail.com.

Step 3 - Walking

Now this is the moment to put on those shoes and prep yourself with water (and energy). Once you arrive in Interlaken, you can walk to your hotel, or hostel, from the train station. There is the option to call a taxi/transport but why would you when you can check out the local restaurants and boutiques!
